Omnicell Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist to join our Sales Analytics team located at our office in Cranberry Township, PA. The candidate will help the Sales organization increase sales effectiveness and efficiency by developing and implementing statistical and machine learning models from multiple data sources. The candidate will support Sales strategies and objectives via statistical data analysis, strategy development, forecasting and process improvements.

The candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, IT/IS, Operations and Marketing to achieve organization goals.

Major Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for statistical analysis and machine learning model design and development of Sales data (territory and market analysis, pipeline growth, opportunity forecasting).
  • Takes the lead in defining issues and ideas to be studied as well as the approach (methodological and technical) to be used in addressing advanced projects.
  • Designs and implements new methods of analysis, model design and performance measurement or, in some cases, adaptation of existing solutions to new areas.
  • Develops models to identify historical and forecasted product and resource requirement trends and provides input for report development and application.
  • Responsible for design, development, implementation and administration of statistical and machine learning models that support business objectives.
  • Establishes and implements standards and strategies for model development.
  • Extract and compile data using SQL queries with filtering, joining, and grouping as needed.
  • Meet with Analytics and Sales team to develop requirements and identify necessary data architecture enhancements to support requirements.
  • Gather information from the sales team and independent representatives to assist in building models to predict opportunity performance and forecasting.
  • Assist in development of executive level reports to support strategic sales direction.
  • Develops and maintains moderate- to extremely-complex computer programs using 4GL programming languages (such as R, Python).
  • Utilize financial models that incorporate all relevant metrics and drivers of the business
  • Translates and communicates analytical results verbally, in writing and in presentation form to all levels of management
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education / Training : A Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Market Research, Engineering (Master Degree preferred)

Business Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, data science, computer science or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience with statistical programming language (R, Python or Scala)
  • Experience in the healthcare industry and with Salesforce is preferred
  • Experience with Qlik Sense and/or Tableau
  • Ability to work independently:
    • coordinate efforts with other members of Analytics team
    • interact with project stake holders
    • take responsibility for executing and delivering on time
    • work with the team to design solutions and troubleshoot new issues

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Advanced skills in data analysis, statistics (probability, hypothesis testing) and machine learning (regression, clustering, classification, ensemble learning) techniques is recommended
  • Must be comfortable and proficient using large and complex databases.
  • A high threshold for ambiguity and lack of structure and process during early phases of engagements
  • Extremely proactive with a strong bias for action; naturally inquisitive; desire to continuously improve current business practices/processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills and effective presentation and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional team projects

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
